Who is it for?
HIFU is suitable for men and women who are looking for painless non-surgical lifting and tightening of facial and body skin. The procedure works best for people over 30 years old with mild to moderate skin laxity.
What is the treatment for?
HIFU is ideal for wrinkle reduction; lifting the cheeks, eyebrows and eyelids; tightening sagging skin on the neck; enhancing the definition of the jawline; tightening of the decolletage; overall smoothing of the skin.
How does the treatment work?
HIFU is a safe, effective and non-invasive procedure for tightening of facial and body skin.
HIFU focused ultrasound energy to target the layers of skin just below the surface. The ultrasound energy causes the tissue to heat up rapidly – once the cells in the targeted area reach a certain temperature, they experience cellular damage. This damage stimulates the cells to produce more collagen leading to tighter, firmer skin with fewer wrinkles.
Benefits of the treatment
The HIFU treatment is a minimally invasive procedure – it is almost painless and does not involve the use of needles, penetration of the skin, surgery, or any form of anaesthesia.
Since the high-frequency ultrasound beams are focused on a specific tissue site below the skin’s surface, there is no damage to the upper layers of the skin or adjacent tissue.
Duration of treatment
A typical HIFU treatment takes 25-45 minutes.
How many sessions are required?
Typically only one treatment is required although the treatment may be repeated after three months if further lifting is desired and appropriate. Results are seen after a few weeks with maximum results by 3 months.
There is no downtime and patients are able to resume their normal activities immediately afterwards.
